Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
